Technical Qualifications
Comprehensive knowledge of business technology. Have delivered voice, video, document management, and data services; mainframe and distributed services in commercial and academic settings with as few as 2 to as many as 60,000 users. Proven implementations from planning through setup to ongoing operations and support.
Considerable experience in a variety of specific technologies, including local area networks, computer hardware, operating systems, telephone systems, document management systems, programming languages, tools, and applications.
Extensive experience in hardware and software acquisition. Able to quickly assimilate telecommunications and computer hardware/software product capabilities and relate to business need. Able to assess vendors for financial stability, market position, technical quality and ability to support their products. Extensive experience with RFPs and contract negotiations, up to $2M.
Particular expertise in accounting systems. Very familiar with low- and mid-market accounting systems/vendors, including Quick Books, MYOB, Peachtree, Solomon, Great Plains. Have helped evaluate and select products, VARs, and create suitable operating environment.
Particular expertise in Information Resource Management including strategic Information Systems planning, data modeling, and database technology.
Extensive experience in all phases of system development. Extensive software engineering experience; practical experience with many methodologies. Able to select and employ methods appropriate for specific development environments.
